How To Handle Your Big Brother

February 13th, 2007

Big brothers are always hard to handle and the closer they are to your age, the more annoying they are.I should know; I have one! If they hit you, you don’t have to retaliate all the time although sometimes it is relevant.

Believe it or not, brothers can be good fun and can have a laugh and even help you with your homework. You just have to know when they are joking or being deadly serious(This mistake can lead to severe pain!)

It is good to be nice to your brother especially if you will be living with him for a long time yet. Find out things like his favourite colour and what his hobbies are, you might even have things in common(believe it or not!)

If you don’t argue, you will not only get along with him but you will be giving your mum a serious rest and that can do heaps of good.

I hope you take this advice and use it to your advantage

I think this is very good advice. I have an older brother and a younger brother and I do not know which was worst. The older one used to get me to run errands for him and treated me like his slave while the younger one followed me and my friends around and was a proper pest.

You obviously handle the brother situation much better than I ever did. Being close in age makes it easier to become friends once you get past the hitting stage.

    Good luck.

This is all very good advice. I have 2 older brothers and they can be pains but they have also done a lot of things for me. They helped me with my football and I think I am quite a good footballer because of it. Now we are older I also get to go on holiday and visit them too. Your writing is very good and I like lots of phrases, plus it has been very helpful and made me laugh! Keep it up!

I don’t have a brother and always wished that I did… but now I’m not so sure! Maybe I should just be thankful that I have a sister and that we get on well.
I liked the humour in your writing - but it’s balanced with some serious points too. I’m impressed with your punctuation skills as well… although you missed out your final full stop!!! ;o)

I really enjoyed reading your article - I think we have some fantastic writers at Cornhill School. I have two brothers - an older and a younger - and agree with a lot of your advice! I wonder if you could write another entry - this time on tips about how to treat your younger sister! You never know, your brother might read it!
Keep writing - I will be looking out for more from you!
