My 10th Birthday
March 20th, 2007
On the 17th of August it was a sunny day. The sky was blue the clouds were white and big like a large candyfloss. It was my 10th birthday. I got up and opened my curtains and let the bright sun in my room. I went down stairs and got my breakfast. I got dressed and opened all of my presents and then all of my friends came over. Then I opened the stuff I got from them. Then I done my hair and then I heard a (peep) so I looked out of the window and saw a limo. So me and my friends ran out side and went in the limo and we went to get photos and we went to the Croft Tavern and we all had a party we played lots of games and then I went to the toilet and I came back and everyone sang happy birthday. I was so embarrassed. Then I went home and went to my bed.from:X.X.lana.X.X

That’s a great simile Lana - “the clouds were white and big like a large candyfloss.” It sounds like you had a very special birthday!

Your story really evokes the whirl of an exciting day Lana. The story is very fast paced with so many things going on… it almost leaves the reader breathless.
I would have liked to hear more about the emotions you were feeling through the day - I’m sure you felt more than the ‘embarrassment’ at the birthday song.
