Scottish Renga 1
January 26th, 2007
By Primary 5, Cornhill School
Scotland is special to me
Like the colours of the rainbow
Cornhill sits on a hill
Filled with students all thinking hard
Teachers teaching students and me
My school is sitting quietly
All surrounded by big green trees
Short and big, all around
Short and big, all around
Like me and my mates
Haggis is sitting on my plate
I like the Scottish food
Mash tatties and neeps too
Yum, yum, yum, yum
Pizza, fish and chips as well
Yum yum, yum yum
My tummy is full!
Scotland is so cool!
Everyone loves it, but do you?
Me and my friends support Celtic!
Do you? The Cornhill team is best.
We are training hard to score the goals
We play at Seaton Park
Training hard to score the goals.
My favourite country is Scotland
It’s the home to:
A big monster
Alexander Graham Bell
Robert the Bruce
A spider on a web
High on the roof of a cave
My favourite country is Scotland
The carnival is good fun
The loop de loop…Everybody loves it.
But do you?
Scotland is special to me
Like the colours of the rainbow

Well done Primary 5 - anothe great Renga. I particularly liked the phrase -
Scotland is special to me
Like the colours of the rainbow.
I look forward to hearing you read out this poem next time you are on the Reading Bus.
