The 20th birth day
On the street of Dane-finch no “15s” windows were decorated with congratulations!! The garden had a bird bath and around it were statues dressed in red, green and white. I entered the house because the door was unlocked. Inside the corridor there was a rug saying “welcome!!” The wallpaper was pink with a hint of red. To the right of me was a calendar, on June the 4th it said “20th birthday!” A tick tock then suddenly cuckoo!-cuckoo! Coming from the living room and that’s when I jumped. So I went into the living room.
The time was 2:00pm (14:00). There were many boxes covered with wrapping paper and the words “happy 20th birth day!” and covered with the number 20. There was a picture of a family. There was a boy, girl and a couple. I sniffed, I smelled a chocolaty smell, it was delicious, not just a chocolaty smell, a sweet chocolaty smell. So I went into the kitchen.
There were dark purple tiles on the surface of the walls and wooden, laminated floor. The ceiling had a fancy light with plastic diamonds and rubies. I heard a “thump!” upstairs right above the kitchen ceiling. I was puzzled, no one was in the house …I thought. So I ran up stairs I went into the first room I saw before I entered the room I saw a sign on the door it read “This is Michaels room do not enter, but i still went inside. The room smelt of sweaty disgusting pairs of football socks. I tripped over a pile of clothes. Just as I tried to get up, I saw a cubed box under the bed. It was covered in a pink wrapping paper. Then I got back up on my feet. The smell was so bad that I left the room. I went into the next room I. I looked under the bed; unfortunately this room had no cubed boxes or any kind. “Bang! Thump! Bang! Thump!” The attic ladder had fallen down! So I climbed up. I switched the lamp on. A shiny object caught my attention. I approached it. It had seemed to be a trophy. It was carved, “player of the year Michael 2005-2006”.

Well done Farai. I enjoyed the details in your story. I wonder whether it is Michael’s 20th birthday. He sounds like a football fan and must be quite a good footballer himself if he won a trophy. You have set me wondering what happens next….
