The Animal
September 19th, 2007
Can you solve the mystery of this strange castle and what’s happening there?
Bats flew by in the dark sky, fireworks bursting, creating light. All animals irritated with the event taking place, but one animal found a castle in the clearing made out of gold blocks and bricks. The animal scurried along to see the castle for itself. The door was camouflaged with bushes and vines. Fortunately that animal had sharp fangs and claws. So it looked like it wasn’t touched for months, maybe even years. The creature opened the door with force and came upon a lobby. It looked like it would go on for hours but it was just a trick of the mind…
Then there was a staircase up ahead, with one hundred steps, made from blocks of gold. It was impossible to be so rich but the creature wouldn’t know that. So it went up the stairs, up and up it went and it suddenly realised it wasn’t going anywhere. The first step it was on, it’s as if it was doing the moonwalk. The creature was actually day dreaming and was standing in the living room on the coffee table, more like BLOOD TABLE…
The creature jumped off the blood table and landed on a golden test tube, it howled in pain but it seemed to be that no one was in the castle. Shortly it started to think about who lives here. A gold test tube, a blood table instead of a coffee table. Suddenly the scent of garlic past the room in a flash. The animal followed the scent to find it came from a dungeon, but it was actually a torture chamber. The sound of water dripping inside a bucket gave the creature shivers coming down from head to paws.
It kept walking down the steps. Then, at that very moment, it stepped on a loose step, setting off an alarm. This alarm sounded well terrifying that even the bravest creature couldn’t help being terrified so much. It ran at mach 9 speed, faster than a Ferrari or anything you can imagine. It looked back then BANG!!! It went right into a wall, breaking through it in a painful way. It was knocked out for half an hour. It finally lashed out with an angry growl. The creature was in a lab for a crazy person who creates creatures with a license to kill. It walked along through the lab, looking at at all the creations and one creature in particular. This one amazed the animal, and then…
An earthquake appeared to be happening outside, nearly heading for the castle. The creature in the tube that was created jumped out, scaring the animal. Almost fainting, the animal went pale and white as a ghost. The creature was actually unstable and exploded, then a white light appeared in the air, and it grew bigger and bigger, and then…
This incident was interesting and confusing as well. Oh well, this mystery is better left unsolved.

First lines are important in stories, and this is an excellent beginning that makes the reader want to read more. And this tale is told from the point of view of a non human, making it highly original. This is an excellent read in the horror genre, which often sent shivers down my spine!

Your story is very good. Ididn’t find any clues - it was hard to notice them but I like the very start.

I think that count Dracula is the person that lives in this house. I also think your story has great describing words and that makes it interesting to read, I hope you put more of your stories on the blog.
