THE BOAT

Can you guess how this happend?
The house boat was small and red with smooth gleaming surfaces. The brass name plate on the front read “Fruitful Harvest”. So it would be a surprise to see the bow ripped and scratched. The boat seemed to be trapped in an eddy with the bow sticking into the shore of a fast flowing river.
The inside of the boat was crammed with pictures, some of which were unfinished. There were paints and paint brushes littering the floor. There was a math box and burger package floating in the water outside the boat.
On the deck you could see very small dusty windows lining the outside of the boat and the rope that would normally tie the boat up was snapped. The end of the rope was blackened and smelt of smoke.
Near the ripped rope, there was a Barbeque that had been knocked over. There were still some burning embers in it.

i think an artist was painting and a barbeque fell on the boat and burnt the rope

You have built up the suspense. I think an artist had used the math box and burger package to hold fruit for his snack as the boat is called the “Fruitful Harvest.” There were gleaming surfaces but very small dusty windows. Did he use the barbeque to create special effects for his paintings (maybe he aged them) but then there was too much smoke and so he had to abandon the ship? I’m still thinking about it…. Well done!
