The Mystery Mansion
October 11th, 2007
What kind of person do you think lives here?
As I was walking by I saw a shiny 10p. I turned to pick it up. I stood up and saw a large house. It was neatly bricked with granite. Large windows were set out in rows of 3. The mansion seemed to have 3 floors. It had a large door with a carving of a huge 1 on it, decorated by carvings of cats. As I looked through the huge black gates twice the size of me I could also see a very long driveway with 5 expensive cars in it.
I rang the doorbell to comment on the magnificent house, there was no reply. I rang twice more and waited. As I waited I counted the number of alarms on the front of the house – 4 in total. I stood for a few minutes but no one answered. I decided just to go in.
I entered into a long, narrow hallway with small ornament lining the birch wood shelves. A noise caught my attention. It was coming from a room to my left. I slowly crept in and realised it was just a coal fire making crackling noises. Above the fire was a painting of a man with a cat. Under the painting was a small plaque with Roger and Seven, 1999 engraved into it. The artist had signed her name at the bottom of the painting, Margaret Gauld. A red leather sofa sat in the centre of the room with a pink feathery cat bed next to it.
Above the door through which I had entered the room was a framed lottery ticket and the final number on the sheet was 7.
In the hallway was a large crystal vase with 3 glass flowers in it. Next to the vase was a small blue door with 6 small rippled glass panes. Through the door was a large table, and all types of kitchen machinery and utensils. Hanging on the door was a blue kitchen apron. The name Margaret had been stitched on with white thread. Above the sink was a large window that looked to a spectacular back garden. It was filled with exotic flowers and perfectly cut grass. Small garden ornaments were dotted all around the garden, and small camouflage motion sensor cameras were also placed there.
I turned at a great speed because of a quiet noise. I noticed a Monet calendar with 12th September marked Ciao!

There are lots of numbers in your story. I think the mansion belongs to a lottery winner - or is there a James Bond connection? Well done, Jaime. It is a setting that leaves me wondering…….
