The Red Octopus
November 3rd, 2006
Hello! My name is Etele. Once I was on the beach. It was on one morning , so there was much space. I was just walking on the sand , and I saw something shiny. I didn’t knew what it was , so I ran to it. It was a living , red octopus! I called my mum to look at it. She was amazed. The octopus was in a little puddle , so we knew that it wasn,t going to live for long. We took a photo of it and then we walked away. If you walk at the beach on mornings you can find amazing creatures.

I wonder if the octupus you saw was like the one described on this website - http://www.montereybay.noaa.gov/visitor/TidePool/VRTidepool/Gen_Critters/Octopus/octopus.html
I sounds as though they could be dangerous so it’s lucky you didn’t touch it.

Etele - what a lovely story - I really enjoyed reading it. I also love walking on the beach but have never been lucky enough to see an octopus!

I love how you describe the octopus. You make the walk on the beach sound very calm and peaceful - but exciting at the same time!
