Apardion website is launched

The Reading Bus is celebrating the colourful history of the Granite City with the launch of our latest website Apardion, on the birthday of Robbie Burns.

Primary 6 from St Peter's RC School will be singing their very own Doric song Fittie Hooses at the historic landmark of Footdee.

The website has been created by our media partner, AVC Media Enterprises, and follows the success of the Apardion i-Phone app.

Pupils in Old Machar, Hazlehead, St Machar and Northfield will be celebrating the launch of their first resources which populate some of the heritage landmarks.

All onboard at Torry ASG

The Reading Bus will be working in Torry over the next few weeks as youngsters at Torry Academy, Tullos School and Walker Road School begin their journey with Apardion.  Sheena will be onboard the bus to share stories and legends from the Harbour, one of the landmarks in Apardion, A Leopard's Quest.

Looking forward to 2012

Happy New Year from all at the Reading Bus Depot.  We are looking forward to exciting new journeys onboard the bus in 2012.  Coming very soon is the launch of our new website Apardion that will be populated with films, podcasts and literature created by the young people of Aberdeen.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from all at the Reading Bus Depot.  We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support during 2011.  It has been a remarkable year for The Reading Bus with many highlights including a charming visit from HRH The Duchess of Rothesay, the production of over 35 animated films, 52 radio shows, 4 published books as well as several e-pubs, over 4,000 youngsters onboard the Millie Tour, winning the prestigious Arts and Business Award for Young People in partnership with TAQA UK Ltd and our very first i-phone app called Apardion with AVC Media Enterprises.

For the Reading Bus team the feedback from the young people we work with are our greatest inspiration and motivation:

Launch at AVC Media Enterprises

On St Andrew's Day, our first i-phone app was unveiled at a fabulous event hosted by AVC Media Enterprises.

Over 80 guests joined the Scottish Celebrations and were greeted by a Piper, Fiona Young before enjoying a Scottish Country Dancing display and an opportunity to view the beautiful art work for Apardion by Julie Lacome.

The formal part of the event was opened by Spencer Buchan, Managing Director of AVC and guests enjoyed a reading by author Sheena Blackhall before pupils from Hazlehead ASG shared their podcasts featuring a 'Walk through history at Marischal College' and Old Machar pupils shared their fabulous film, 'A Kelpie at the Brig o' Balgownie'.
