Reading Radio

Reading Radio is a joint initiative between Station House Media Unit and The Reading Bus.  A successful application to Children In Need has provided funds for a three year Reading Radio Development Worker.  We are now in our second year delivering this programme, working with Primary 7 classes in 17 schools across St Machar, Torry and Northfield Communities.  Lesley Ross joined our team in July 2011.

Each class has 6 sessions working with Lesley to create the content for their radio shows, prepare recordings, compose jingles and write the scripts.  The entire class are involved in making show with four pupils being chosen to be the broadcasters for the live show.

Reading Radio is broadcast live every Thursday from 11am - 12 noon on SHMU 99.8 FM. The show is repeated every Saturday from 6pm - 7pm.
