Scots Aloud

Scots Aloud is aimed at encouraging and developing youngsters’ confidence in reading aloud using Scots Poetry. By nurturing an appreciation of Scots identity, culture and language, the pupils can enjoy discovering how to present and share their poems with an audience.

The Reading Bus will be delivering the strand of Scots Aloud in three different ways:

  • working with schools in St Machar, Northfield and Torry ASGS to deliver a structured programme in partnership with schools and CRIS.
  • offering twilight CPD sessions to enable teachers outwith these ASGs to facilitate Scots Aloud within their schools. Resources will be provided together with an opportunity to attend a culminate event.
  • offering individual schools or pupils the opportunity to become involved by creating their own short video or podcast that records their recital of a Scots poem.

More information will be uploaded to this site or please contact readingbus@me.com
